Bikes And Segway Inc is a family shop for bike rental, bicycle tours, and Segway tours on James Avenue in South Beach, next to Lincoln Road. We help tourists explore Ocean Drive, Lincoln Road, and Miami Beach by bike or Segway. Electric bike rental is available too. This location is managed by Mayra, the owner's wife, and is the second shop of the same family business that started on 14th Street. Guests book online, on WhatsApp with Mayra, or in person at 1655 James Avenue.
Miguel Zaldivar opened the first shop in 2012 with almost no money and almost no experience. He started with eight old bikes from a flea market in a small rented space on 14th Street. Miami Beach licensing and permits were still new to him. The goal was simple: give visitors a friendly place to rent a bike near Ocean Drive without feeling lost or overcharged.
Tourists kept asking for a trustworthy bike rental Miami Beach option close to the beach, with clear prices, working bikes, and people who speak their language. Many visitors also wanted Segway tours and electric bike rides without hunting across South Beach. Miguel built the shops around that need: honest rentals, local tips, and a door that stays open daily.
Year after year the fleet grew. Segway tours on Art Deco streets and Star Island became a highlight. A second location opened at 1655 James Avenue as Bikes and Segway, next to Lincoln Road. Mayra, the owner's wife, manages the James Avenue shop. Miguel's son Sebastian grew up in the business. He was six and a half when the first shop opened and is now studying engineering. The family still runs both locations seven days a week.
Choose a beach cruiser for a classic South Beach bike rental, or an electric bike if you want to cover more ground with less effort along Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road. Tandems are available too. Helmets, locks, and water are part of the rental experience at 1655 James Avenue.
Join a guided Segway tour for Ocean Drive, Art Deco hotels, and Star Island mansions from the street. We offer guided bicycle tours and electric bike tours as well. Segways are for tours only. We do not rent Segways for self guided use.
For flats, brakes, or tune-ups, James Avenue redirects guests to the family workshop at Miami Beach Bike Rental, 233 14th Street, where most work finishes the same day.
